Late, rare Dohnányi and very welcome these pieces are indeed. I especially like the little Scherzino in the 4 pieces.

Thank you, Malc.

The Valse Boiteuse is lovely. Thanks Malcolm for these new Dohnanyi posts.

No etudes or tarentelles (or 'big spiders' as Alfor likes to call them) here, but here are a couple of pieces by Adler the salon virtuoso.
Pity about the scan quality, but they should still be legible enough.

Still hope to see his set of '12 Etudes de Style' someday!
And here is a Fantaisie by Adler from the BDH to keep your fingers busy:

Leó WEINER
Hungarian Peasant Songs vol. III op. 22
Weiner Peasant Songs III op.22.pdf
P.S. Looking for a decent „fully fingered AND pedaled“ edition of
Beethoven's Piano Sonatas and Sonatas for Violin and Piano?
Try Weiner's EMB edition! (Unfortunately his edition of Beethoven's
Sonatas for Solo Violin lacks pedal marks!)

Peasant songs! A pleasure to encounter some more tunes in the genre as Bartok certainly didn't mine them all.

I think we would all love to see WEINER's fully pedaled version of the Beethoven solo violin sonatas--I bet they are as interesting as Beethoven's organ concertos.

Anyway, I sure like the rhythms is these pieces. Thanks for posting this, Alfred.

You are certainly right!!

BTW do you know Weiner's orchestration of Liszt's b minor Sonata (no joke, see youtube)?

Thanks for pointing out Weiner's orchestration of the b-minor sonata. It is a very effective transcription and is supplemented with many Daguerreotype's of Liszt which I've never seen before in the YouTube vid.
