I am really grateful to all the contributors to this thread. Last year, someone asked me if I could play something by Röntgen for my YouTube channel. I had none of his scores at home, but was able to find a couple of pieces by him in the Sibley collection - the Impromptu and Serenade Melancolique, from 1910. As far as I see, neither appear in the worklist on the Röntgen Foundation website, and they were written for a competition. They appear in an interesting collection of prizewinning pieces which can be downloaded via the following link (I think they are in the second volume):
http://hdl.handle.net/1802/2419
This book did not come up in a search on Röntgen on Sibley - and I can't remember how I came across it!

Hello Alfor

Apologies...I missed that somehow.....trouble is your thread is getting very big and unwieldy, and as I try to watch over everything going on across PP, it gets difficult to keep up with everything posted [although, of course, the Russian stuff always snags my keen interest].

Malcolm

...never mind! That problem will always be present - unless we will get an decent archive facility...
Why not compete whose scans are better quality? :D

This posting is dedicated to Sir Phillip210
(who may duly be called „Der Papst der gehobenen Salonmusik“).

A most interesting piece, imho (NO Salonmusik!)
