Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Any 2H transcriptions for Chopin's piano concert No. 2 Op. 21?
The OT database lists a transcription by EKIER Jan.
Thanks in advance!

Ekier is probably copyrighted, but here is a one-piano edition:

Walter, your server always 'times out' on me. It doesn't respond very quickly. I know the issue is not at my end. Is there anything you can do? I assume others have the same problem.WCosand wrote:Ekier is probably copyrighted, but here is a one-piano edition:

Sorry to take up discussion space, but if anyone else has problems please send me a personal message. If you can tell me where you are, the time of day, what file etc., it might help.
My site is used by people in 60 countries every month and the only place I ever hear complaints from is England.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
I have found this site to be a gold mine for collecting piano transcriptions. I would like to submit my transcriptions of the final movement from Scriabin Symphony #2 and the opening of his Symphony #3. I used Alfor's generous recent 4H contribution to generate these using commercial software and a "lot" of tweaking. I would like to do some more works which I think do not exist (are are not available) in 2H transcriptions. These include:
Sibelius Symphony #2
Shostakovich: Festive Overture
Vaughan William's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis
Delius Song of Summer
Mahler Symphony #3 first movement
Grieg Symphonic Dances
Dvorak Serenade for Strings
Schoenberg Verklarte Nacht
If anyone knows if these already exist, please let me know to save me the effort.
Thanks
Ron

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
I started to do Dvorak's Serenade for Strings a while ago but lost interest whilst putting expression marks etc. to the first page of movement 1. I haven't even checked it for playability either. Here's what I have so far though for mvt 1. I'll post the whole five movements though, as you've now made me want to finish the project.rqsrqs wrote:I have found this site to be a gold mine for collecting piano transcriptions. Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
thank you rqsrqs and pianogirl
I checked the mentioned works and no one seems to exist in 2H
May I add my preferite wishlist in the field of non-existing 2H ?
Brahms 3 Piano Quartets, 3 Piano Trios, 2 Clarinet Sonatas, Double Concerto (cello and violin) (full transcriptions, not separate mov.)
Berlioz S.Fantastique (not Liszt of course)
Dvorak Piano Quintet op.81
Verdi Quattro pezzi sacri
Mozart ... all the violin sonatas, Sinfonia Concertante, c min.Messe

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Caprotti,
It is your lucky day, Someone just posted this on imslp last week:
http://imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/8 ... _sacri.pdf
It is the vocal score. Or were you looking for a full piano transcription?
I like your suggestion of the Brahms Double Concerto. There is a 4H version on imslp which makes it much easier for me to transcribe than using the full score.
I would also like to add to my wish list:
Prokofiev Symphony 5 ( esp. 2nd movement) and Shostakovich Symphony 5 (especially 4th movement).
Pianogirl,
The Dvorak looks good. I can't wait to get home and try it out. I hope you get to finish it.
I have the midi for Dvorak Serenade for Strings in case you want it.
