Does anyone have news about 'Frobergeriana'?
In the last page of op. 150.
Thanks.

A question about Niemann and Froberger. Frobergeriana is a work by Niemann in the style of Froberger, while Froberger Album is about works by Froberger edited by Niemann. Is this correct or not? Thanks. R.

In my opinion both works are albums of pieces by Froberger, both edited but not composed by Niemann. See also his Alte Meister des Klavierspiels vol. 2 (on IMSLP), which also has -besides works of other old composers- most of the pieces of Frobergiana. It would make no sense to include a work of Niemann himself in a collection of Old masters of the piano.
This differs from Niemann's Scarlattiana, in which Niemann composes new works as a tribute to the old composer.
By the way, Niemann has also Op. 168, a Sarabande of Froberger, on which Niemann composes variations.
