Nice to have you back Fred and I do hope you don't follow in the footsteps of dear Isaac Nathan, who reportedly didn't care what he said or how he said it and as a result upset a lot of folks, totally unlike you of course (scouse git).
regards
Brian

Thanks HHH, the trip was very enjoyable, very successful and very hot (Philippines always is at this time of year).

I haven't upset anyone for quite a while now. I think I'm losing my touch...

Regards
Fred

The perfect English combo - Keats's words and Stanford's music. Er, but the title's in French!
The ballad itself consists of 12 quatrains of ABCB rhyme in iambic tetrameter form, except
for every last line, which is in iambic trimeter form. The music is in F minor.

Here are the "Five Jacobean Lyrics Op.28" by Quilter, not to be found on imslp.
This is not my own scan, but I can't remember where I found it.

Coates-Summer Afternoon.pdf
Coates-I pitch my lonely Caravan at Night.pdf
Coates-Bird Songs at Eventide G.pdf
Coates-Bird Songs at Eventide B flat.pdf
Another good one: Eric Coates, primarily known for his well crafted light music, represented here by two of his smash hit songs
"Bird Songs at Eventide" and "I pitch my lonely Caravan at Night", with "Summer Afternoon" thrown in for good measure.

I found these scores on the website of the national library of Australia, they are for some reason not on imslp.
The layout is in need of getting used to...

Firstly, thank you MrTchaikovsky for the above files. Note that to make them searchable, they need to be placed in line after uploading and before submitting.

Secondly, the link below provides an excellent selection of songs, along with various silent movie scores. Some of these files have very colourful covers. I've also uploaded one of the songs, by my fellow Leicesterian, the admirable Mr Lawrence Wright, as a taster.

Regards, Mr Timtin.
