Thank you again Emil for all these interesting pieces. Of course, the delightful jazzy Savoy Club by Tsfasman seems very brightful and gay as compared to the other very serious compositions !

This is a recent upload of Thalberg's arrangement of Mozart's famous Lacrimosa,
a real tearjerker of a piece!

A nice transcription for solo piano of the Op.16 Berceuse by Faure. Per the Naxos notes "edited and transcribed by Zoltan Jeney and Peter Nagy.''

Hauntingly beautiful.

The poem and an English translation are here:

Very nice Jeremy. The score can be found on Grainger's IMSLP page under the collections tab "Free Settings of Favorite Melodies".

I'm interested to know which are the best alternative platforms to
YouTube for classical music recordings. Also, what is the best way
to download mp3 files from these other sites.

A recent discovery for me was a beautiful Sonata for Solo Cello, by
the very under-rated Granville Bantock, who wrote some lovely music.
Sibelius dedicated his 3rd Symphony to the Englishman.

The first half of the 20th. century was witness to a rich variety of
British composers, but unfortunately, too many of them seem to
have been eclipsed by the greatly over-rated Elgar, then RVW,
then Britten.

Here's a link to Bantock's Solo Cello Sonata, courtesy of DailyMotion.

This isn't brand new to YouTube, but nevertheless, I delighted to
stumble across it, despite not being Czerny's biggest fan - his 4H
arrangement of Mozart's Requiem.
