The Music of Joseph Haydn

Post by Igod82 »

I am looking for a urtext, or an edition different than the one on IMSLP of Hadyn sonata No.43 Hob 16 in A Flat Major.

http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/alb ... _id=204258 - lovely recordings of the Klavierstucke including Haydn's authorized arrangement of the Seven Last Words of Christ for piano 2 hands.
Anyone ever come across this?

Somewhere in my not archived mountains of old scores I have an old yellow Litolff edition of 7 Last Words which I suppose not to be Haydn's own 2H version.

I didn't rush to post this because it isn't my scan and not my area of expertise at all.

Very interesting thread.

The Seven last words are in the Konnemann complete piano works. It´s an arrangement published by Artaria in 1787, the arranger is unknown, there are some differences with the Kohler. I´m not sure about the copyright of this edition, if it´s not a problem I can make an scan.

Another Haydn request, I can´t find the C Major Piano Concerto. It´s not so rare music! Anyone?

Best!

Does anyone have Haydn transcription for piano:
Variations on the Hymn ‘Gott erhalte’, from String Quartet Hob III.77?
Thanks
