Tikhon Khrennikov (1913-2007)..........saint or sinner, his name often provokes much discussion. But here is something a little more innocent from this composer.

Anton Olegovich Nikonov. Born 1992, Ulyanovsk. Russian composer, and pianist. Member of the Union of Composers of Russia, member of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Mordovia, member of the International Union of Composers of the XXI century, member of the All-Russian Musical Society. Participant of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.

He began to study music at the age of 9, while learning to play the piano in music school No. 3 of the city of Ulyanovsk. Then he continued his studies at the Ulyanovsk Music College under Shadrina and further studies at the Ulyanovsk State University in the special piano class of Tatiana Troitskaya. At the same time he was engaged in private studies in composition and theory of instrumentation with M.I. Harsh.

As a pianist, he is repeatedly requested to become the first performer of works by contemporary composers in his homeland. In his compositional style, he combines the tendencies of ‘new simplicity’, ‘pessimistic realism’ and ‘melancholy’. His greatest interest is in the genre of the instrumental concerto and piano works in all forms (for such a young composer, he has written extensively for the piano including two piano concertos todate).

Re copyright - these scores are available freely on the composer's website.
