Re: Music of the Caucasus [Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia etc.]
And most definitely thirded! Thank you very much, Malcolm, for all this hard work! In my case, getting bored with this music is as improbable as my getting bored with the Georgian language, so in short, no boredom here.
And speaking of Georgian, a little well-wishing à propos this new year for everyone:
გილოცავ ახალ წელს! გისურვებ ბედნიერებას და წარმატებას. გაგვიმარჯოს!
An English translation: "Happy New Year! I wish you happiness and success." And the last part is a fixed formula which could be translated as: "Let us be victorious!" And here's the transliteration for language fiends such as myself (stress is always on the first syllable in Georgian, though it can be quite light!): "Gilotsav axal ts'els! Gisurveb bednierebas da ts'armat'ebas. Gagvimarjos!"
Witzelsucht
P.S. I was also very glad to take a look at those works by Atovmyan, Malcolm, the man whose piano arrangements of Shostakovich's Symphony No.7 I was lucky enough to get some years ago. Thank you once more!

Thank you....I'll keep them comin'
Two for tonight - Meri Davitashvili (1924-2014), I have posted a few works by her previously, and think it did include a version of the Khorumi (but don't have time to check and alternates alwasy useful).
Mouchet Lalazarov - a new one to me and could not find any dates or biographical data.
