Many thanks for the ROUSSEL piece, Alfred. Dazzling performance which I greatly enjoyed in the FLAC format (no MP3--thank you very much!).

Thank you for feedback!
How do you like this:

Albert ROUSSEL (Rüssel)
Sonatine op. 16

alfor fingered
Roussel Sonatine op.16 fingered.pdf
Did you know that one of the first recordings of this piece was made in the 1970s by Andre Previn (Jazz Pianist, Classical Pianist, Jazz Composer, Classical Composer, Conductor, recently part-time husband of Anne-Sophie Mutter)?

I cleaned the IMSLP copy of Roussel's Conte à la poupée some time ago - I don't believe I ever shared it.

Here's a nice recording (along with three other AR pieces) by Lucette Descaves:

Hello,
I've been looking for three pieces by Pierre de Breville, and wonder if anyone is able to help. They are:

Impromptu et choral,
Prelude et fugue, and
Stamboul.

I think it's time there was a CD of his piano music.

Many thanks and best wishes.

That would be great. The few works I've heard so far are quite good.
Unfortunately, he is still under copyright in France.

Yes, I think he died in 1949. Is it 70 years for copyright in France? That means if I record something next year, and it came out in 2019, there would be nothing to pay. I've noticed that these pieces are listed by the Bibliotheque Nationale and are held at the Richelieu site. Have you (or do you know anyone who has) experience of obtaining items from them that are still in copyright (if only just)?

Yes, 70 ans post mortem, but for musical works, France is (I believe) the only European to add years compensating the war time (It was clear for Ravel which entered the public domain in France much later than in other countries). Thus my guess is for the Impromptu et Choral, published in 1912, before WWI, the copyright will end only in 2034 and for Stamboul, published in 1921, the copyright would expire in 2027 or 2028.
