Greetings all!

I was wondering if anyone has Obukhov's 6 preludes (Prieres). Wonderful pieces and very intriguing.

Hello Medtnaculus

To my knowledge there are Six Preludes (1914-15) and Six Pieces called 'Prieres' (1915) by Obukhov. They are separate works. I do not have them.......possibly Isokani may know of their existence and location.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me!

I am in search of the Prieres (Prayers). I will wait and see what Isokani has to say.

Konstantin Sternberg (1852-1924)

One of my old favourites. I did a big posting of Sternberg works back in 2010 - now in the archive section:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=44&p=7340&hilit=sternberg#p7340

Here is another piece from the Op 22 'Al Fesco' set [No. 7 Serenade], and a piece from his Op 102 'Outing' for young pianists.

All six prieres can be found in "Nicolas Obouhow - Oeuvres pour piano" by Editions Henry Lemoine, from 2009.

A mini Glinka festival !

Mikhail Glinka (1804-1857) hopefully needs no introduction. These pieces do not appear to be available on IMSLP and I do not believe they have been shared previously on Pianophilia (to my knowledge). A selection of original works and transcriptions.

Malcolm

Bolero in D minor - arr. Piano solo (from the song cycle 'A Farewell to St Petersburg' - transcription by the composer)
Glinka - Bolero in D minor - arr. Piano solo [composer][mhb].pdf
Fragment of Finn's Ballade from the opera 'Ruslan & Lyudmila' arr. Piano solo [composer]
Glinka - Fragment of Finn's Ballade from the opera 'Ruslan & Lyudmila' (1852)[mhb].pdf
French Quadrille from the opera 'Ivan Susanin' ('Ivan Susanin' was the original name of the opera 'A Life for the Tsar' but Glinka changed it after the first performance following direct interest from the Tsar at the time. During the Soviet period the name was reverted back to its original title and all mention of the Tsar was deleted) !
Glinka - French Quadrille on themes from the opera 'Ivan Susanin' [mhb].pdf
Grande Valse in G major - originally for orchestra (now unfortunately lost) - this is a transcription by the composer.
Glinka - Grande Valse in G major for orchestra - arr. Piano solo (composer 1839) [mhb].pdf
'Komarinskaya' Fantasie for orchestra - arr. Piano solo by Lyapunov (the version by Balakirev is available on IMSLP)
Glinka - 'Komarinskaya' Fantasie for Orchestra - arr. Piano solo [Lyapunov] [mhb].pdf
New French Quadrilles (circa 1826)
Glinka - New French Quadrilles (~1826) [mhb].pdf
Romance 'I Remember, Stranger' - arr. Piano solo by Mikhnovsky
Glinka - Romance 'I Remember, Stranger' - arr. Piano solo [Mikhnovsky] [mhb].pdf
The following two works are for Piano / 4 hands - I will also post a link on that thread.

Overture to the opera 'Ivan Susanin' - arr. Piano & 4 hands
Glinka - Overture to the opera 'Ivan Susanin' - arr. Piano & 4 hands [mhb].pdf
Polka in Bb major for Piano & 4 hands
Glinka - Polka in Bb major for Piano & 4 hands (1852) [mhb].pdf

Many thanks, Malcolm. Most of these are totally unfamiliar to me (as usual!).
