Hi There,
I'm particularly curious to see if anyone has scans of any piano works that are not already on IMSLP by Henry Balfour Gardiner? I put a few works in the IMSLP wishlist, but would be happy to see any of these.
Thank you so much, Alfor, for these and the other Clutsam pieces - he is a composer whose music I have always found it hard to get sight of in any quantity. It is fascinating to compare the 'Ball Dreams' with the Berceuse of a few years later. Clutsam evidently had two composing styles, and the Berceuse is the first non-light work I have seen by him. Indeed, anything by anyone in Ascherberg's 'Repertoire Series' is worth looking at, because the publisher evidently aspired to distance it from the salon or parlour!
Jules Rochard: Operatic echo from 'The siege of Rochelle', an opera by Michael William Balfe (1808-1870).
Published by Edwin Ashdown, London, n.d. [1860-1880].
Also piquing my curiosity at the moment is Edward Bairstow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bairstow a composer known these days more for his Anglican service music and a handful of organ works, but in his time, he wrote and published a lot. I'm particularly curious to see if anyone's played his Variations on an Original Theme, for 2 pianos (OUP) or has a score to hand that they wouldn't mind uploading.
Johann Christoph Pepusch (1667 Berlin - 1752 London): The Beggar's Opera.
Arranged for Pianoforte by Jules Rochard.
Published by Edwin Ashdown, London, n.d. [c. 1860-80]

Is it Pepusch's The Beggar's Opera or John Gay's?
Lyrics by Gay, music by Pepusch.
I'm sure you know the wonderful inscription on his (Gay's) grave stone: Life is a jest, and all things show it;
I thought so once, and now I know it.
