Novel approaches

Post by Arjuna »

I thought a thread on novel or unusual approaches to playing and learning piano might be interesting. It's something I have been exploring a little bit myself lately.

To get things started I have written some alternatives to the regular old scales practice forms which you can see/listen to here;

I'd be interested to hear what people think.

I have just now explored this sub forum and saw your post. It's too bad no one has replied. Your ideas seem really great. I never play scales because I prefer to spend my time reading new and old pieces at the piano, but your methods might lead me to playing some scales now! You made this sort of thing much more fun and I'm looking forward to trying them out. Thank you for sharing your method with us!

Sorry, that link won't work anymore. I might put it up again once I have had some time to revise the exercises. Don't hold your breath though…
