One more Soviet-era work, by the student of Myaskovsky and the teacher of Sofia Gubiadulina.

Re: Piano Quintets
I really like Spohr's Double Quartets. It's come my attention that his brother
Ferdinand arranged his Double Quartet in D minor Op65 as a Piano Quintet
in 1825.
This begs the questions (a) does anyone have the score, and (b) does any
recording exist?
It would be fascinating to have some sort of access to it.

Re: Piano Quintets
Here is Evgeny Golubev's piano quintet from 1938, dedicated to his teacher Myaskovsky. This precedes all but one of his 20+ string quartets. Judging based on a few other works of his from the 1930s, it's probably a fairly conservative 'along party lines' work. I like his later quartets quite a bit more, but this is still of interest. As stated in the bio section, this was apparently the first Soviet piano quintet (or possibly the first that passed muster...). He also wrote a second piano quintet in the 1950s, but I'm not sure if a score was ever published for that:

Piano Quintet no. 1 (1938)

I've not seen a scan of this on the net, but there are two fairly recent editions that I believe are currently available:Faurémaniac wrote:Hello everyone, I'm looking for Caplet quintet for piano and wind....Any clue where to look for ?
