Interesting! I thought he may have been Joaquín Nin-Culmell but according to Wikipedia, "Joaquín Nin-Culmell was born in Berlin, Germany, the youngest child of Cuban singer Rosa Culmell and pianist-composer Joaquín Nin". His sister was writer Anaïs Nin.

Nin-Culmell was a student of Dukas and a teacher of Sondheim.

Thank you!

Yes, Nin-Culmell is the son and J. Nin is the father
(the son may have adopted the "Culmell" to distinguish from his father).

The cover page states Fr. Czerny, I wonder if it is the same as Carl Czerny or perhaps "Frau" Czerny!

LIADOV
Mazurka op. 10 No. 3 (edited by Czerny - believe it or not!)
Liadov Mazurka op.10,3.pdf
Early L., Borodin-influenced.
A good guess - but in this case it means Franz or Friedrich.

In any case, "our" Czerny was never married and had no children.
I guess that Czerny which means black if I am correct is as common as Messrs. Black, Lenoir and Schwartz.

I cannot imagine how Czerny would have had, a) time to court a young lady, b) time to have children supposing he was successful with a), but assuming he was successful in both a) and b) then c) would indeed stand for Czerny - and sons inc.( lots of them no doubt), the Etude factory, etudes for all occasions and all instruments, no-one does it quicker or more voluminously. Special rates for four hands, eight hands and one hand. No commission too difficult, boredom guaranteed. etc...

Dear Alfor
thanks for this Jemnitz. I think we have quite a few of his scores now and this is an excellent addition. I've been thinking of playing some of his music for a while ... and perhaps it will be soon time to start. Got to learn Lavapies first, though.
