Dear fleubis, tonight I will share with you one of the deepest secrets of the musical world - hitherto only known to a handful of inaugurated musicians:

A couple of Sauguet's piano works is still available as printed and ready-bound sheet music -
yes, you can buy it!!

Thanks very much for uploading these really charming little pieces. I assume that the names above each piece are merely the dedicatees and not the titles of the pieces - ie, the individual pieces are untitled. Any other views?

For me it is obvious, that the names above each piece are in fact the names of the dedicatees. Especially with the ladies it may well be possible, that the composer literally wrote them into their respective albums. To have an "album" or "guestbook" is a custom which even today is still alive in parts of the society (e.g. schoolgirls).

Thanks for the Sauguet, Alfor. I don't mean to bother anyone but having seen the last comments just wanted to leave this here, because I believe it deserves some respect since these pieces have been posted so recently. It seems to me that lots of users don't pay attention to everything it's happening in Pianophilia... ;) viewtopic.php?f=11&t=119&start=300
