Hmmmm. Keller Valse's today! Keller succeeds nicely in getting away from the typical Valse format in the first one, which as the title suggests is more like an impromptu with Valse suggestions, but no mistaking the 2nd piece--definitely a Valse. A pleasant pastime, these miniatures. Thanks again, Alfor.

A lot to like in the Sauer Suite and especially the Bungert pieces, Alfor. Frank won't be alone in welcoming these gems to our pianos. Thanks for posting these.

Dear Alfred,

I couldn't agree more with you and fleubis! The Bungert pieces are just wonderful!! I'm very much taken my the Characterstucke; slightly Schumann-esque in places, ravishingly beautiful melodically. And the Variations & Fugue are exceptional and wonderful fun to play. This composer is immediately approachable, and very kind to both the ears and hands. I shall be playing over these for some time to come!

Very interesting on the beautiful cover for the Characterstucke....I noticed that there were a total of 4 pieces numbered, but only the first two had been titled. One wonders whether this was a work in progress and if the publisher rushed to the presses to get the first 2 pieces out before the others were even composed! Do you know if the work was ever finished with all of the projected four pieces published? A Bungert mystery!

As Always,

Frank (a.k.a. 'Dr.H.') :)))
