Dear Jean-Séb,

thanks a lot for the infos on Trebinsky!

I just ordered a couple of piano pieces by pianist and composer Lucien Wurmser. Do you happen to have any biographical info?

Best regards

Dear Alfor,
Although Wurmser's name is kind of familiar and frequently cited in relation to the musical life in Paris at the beginning of the XXth Century, I have found it quite difficult to gather biographical information. So here are the few things I collected.
He was born on 23 May 1877 and died in Paris in 1967. He won the first prize at the Conservatoire in 1893 at the age of 16 and then lead the life of a virtuoso pianist. He created many works by the composers of the time, Debussy, Aubert, Reynaldo Hahn. He also conducted and composed.

Have it?
Sorry, I don't have it and I cannot locate it in any German library. But it is still in print and can be ordered here:

Many thanks Alfor.
Is much time that I seek this piece.

Alfred, the Inghelbrecht pieces are charming little character pieces and great fun. Always great to get a surprise!

As you wind down your mammoth posting of the Frank Op.43, I took great pleasure in playing through this penultimate volume. Today I am quite drawn to the wonderful Scherzetto and the lyrical Lied.

Hi Alfor,

I am actually working on some Wurmser, love it. Not all his piano works are still in print. I am also gathering some information about him, which, I am afraid to say, are quite scattered on the internet. Will post them up once I have them organized.

Yes, Alfred, it is a sad day that we must say goodbye to Frank since, alas, there is no volume 8. But these 7 volumes are a bountiful treasure of gratefully playable music and what a volume this 7th volume is--all the pieces are lovely.....he gives us a final heroic scherzo to conclude this opus which I find quite ebullient. Thanks for this wonderful treasure, Alfred.
