Re: Polish Composers
After a quarter of a century under wraps, Poland's gift to the UK of a statue
of Chopin for dealing with Hitler, is finally on show again in London.
Norway's gratitude comes annually in the form of a Christmas tree.
As for other European countries, might I be so bold as to suggest that a few
more Eurovision votes might not go amiss from time to time!

Re: Polish Composers
I like the statue of Chopin in Warsaw. It is so large that there are platforms on either side during which daily concerts are given in the summer months. But any status of Chopin is welcome!

Has anyone come across the Spanisches Ständchen op63/1 by Xaver Scharwenka played so winningly by Stephen Hough on his Spanish album?
Thanks

Re: Polish Composers
As I was putting some Google books scans on my website this morning I was wondering whether there was a pianophilia thread for Leschetizky. Any interest?
