Thank you so much... Sorry for your hard work posting all of them. I think there are double posting in any case, but I do not know why.
Best regards.

mballan wrote:Gustav Merkel (1827-1885). German organist and composer. Studied organ with Schneider, and theory with Otto: he was also aided by Schumann. He was organist for several churches in Dresden, and taught at the Dresden Conservatoire from 1861. He primarily wrote a number of organ works...........although on this occassion, I have posted one of his few piano works - the Op 70 Polonaise.

Thanks Malcolm. I like his organ sonatas. He seems to have written many piano salon pieces, two of them being quite popular in easy piano collections from the past, Spring song and Butterfly.

Hello Friends,

We've talked quite a bit about Lothar Perl on the Syncopations thread, and although he is best remembered for his syncopated novelty piano solos he was in fact a highly trained classical pianist and composed a few pieces in the modern classical idiom. Here is his "Toccatina" as an example.

All Best,

Frank

BSB has scanned six sonatas published by Daniel Gottlob Türk in 1783.
