Violin Concerti
Do we really not have a Violin Concerto thread yet?
Here's an oddity: an early Beethoven Violin Concerto left in fragmentary form and completed by J Hellmesberger. Gidon Kremer recorded a completion of the same piece by Wilfried Fischer, which seems a slightly more interesting completion. Completions of this sort almost always seem worthwhile to my mind, displaying an enormous amount of care, love and understanding quite as much as scholarly erudition. This is a fairly minor example I suppose but interesting nonetheless.
