Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Thank you Scriabinof for that delightful Sonatina,
and for giving the url to make a performance available.
Thanks to Jim as well. I would certainly not have been able to do anything with the tif file.
Best wishes to you both.
Peter.

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
I think these are all of the Marutaev solo piano pieces and transcriptions from Boris' site. They were all in multi-page .tif format--I gave them a quick onceover and converted them to PDFs. The translations are mainly from Google--feel free to correct or clarify as you like.
First Piano Sonata Two Etudes for piano: Movement; Contrasts Four Pieces for piano: Pastoral; Oriental Melody; Autumn Day; Merry Petrushka Fantasy for piano Prelude and Fugue for piano Play-Pictures for piano: Jukebox; Melody; Dance; Clowns; Procession; Dance-fleeting; Humoresque The Forgotten Waltz from the soundtrack to the film "The Horned Bastion" "Let's go" from the soundtrack to the animated film "Adventures of Dunno and His Friends"

Thank you!
I previously posted the Sonatina op. 6:

Please remember: pianophilia has a search facility!!
P.S. In this case your posting is a good alternative scan (my copy of the Sonatine in fact had some "pale" spots!)

Liadov's Prelude Op31 No2. Wideley available, but here's the edition I first learned this from many years ago. Remember Century Edition?

Many thanks to Jim Faston for the very interesting Marutaev pieces!
Yes, I remember well the Century Edition and still have many of the scores in that edition from some 40 years ago....back when they were 50 cents!

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Here is another book of preludes for those of us who enjoy Chopin-esque sets of 24. Alfor posted a few other stand-alone works by this composer in the past, but aside from those and this, I've no biographical information to offer:
Yuri Sergeyevich BIRYUKOV
Preludes (24), for piano, op. 8 (1938)

Thank you, caostotale, for the very nice BIRYUKOV preludes. Very fine, indeed!
