Here are some new recordings! The Chaminade Ops.5-7 were a little bit rough. There were also some problems in the Dohler recording. You can find the Chaminade pieces including the Havanaise at the link! 4candles, I had trouble reading the Kreutzer score on my wife's ipad mini :(. It was not quite clear enough for me to play it accurately and so I did not make a recording. I'm sorry! It does have some interesting qualities, for sure!
I will definitely take a look at Phillip Scharwenka next.

Very very nice! Thank you again for sharing your talents ! I know there are some good nocturnes in Dohler's output that would make great debuts and thank you for seeking this one! The Chaminade is great as always!

Musiclife, I appreciate your enthusiasm, thanks! I was able to "premiere" my 3 songs in front of an audience, and their reception was very positive!! Because of that success, I have another concert lined up next week and will perform a clarinet trio I wrote! Very exciting for me, especially because I did not go to school for music (100% amateur), and this is all just my life's passion. Happy days.
I'm so glad to make recordings for you and others. Next on my list will be some works by Gernsheim, Brull, Schutt, and P Scharwenka. I'm looking forward to more Dohler scores. Do you have any other specific Chaminade requests that I can record for you?

Hi Alex - I'm so glad that you're enjoying playing these rarities - music is indeed the gift that keeps on giving! Thank you so much for the offer to play more Chaminade! Of her later works, which have not been played much at all, if I had to choose, I would be interested in her Italian-influenced pieces like Op. 170 - Air Italien, Op. 163 - Romanesca, Op. 154 - Serenade Venitienne, and Op. 82 - Chanson Napolitaine. I would also like to humbly request a hearing of some of the Dobrzynski that has been shared on PP - much of his chamber music has been recorded, but precious few of his piano pieces, which are always excellent. ;) Thank you again so much for the offer! It brings much pleasure and certainly aids in the research/playing of these wonderful composers.

At long last, I have new recordings!

Gernsheim Op. 61 Nos 1 and 2. I also went ahead and uploaded some recordings I did a while ago of the Op.8 Suite. It is riddled with errors, so download and listen at your own peril.

Chaminade Op.154 and Op.170.

Philipp Scharwenka Op.65 Romantische Episoden Nos.1 and 2. If anyone has more of these pieces scanned, they will be recorded.

Schutt Op.91 Romantic appassionato.

Alex, what an illuminating post! So wonderful to hear Philipp Scharwenka and I very much appreciate the Chaminade as always. The Schutt selection was a nice choice as well! Thank you!

Dear Alex,

I am (finally) getting around to look at my Dohler scores and I checked IMSLP first. There are two nice posts of Dohler Nocturnes from Op. 25 and Op. 31 (two nocturnes each opus) on IMSLP right now - our own Phillip Sear has recorded Op. 25 No. 01 on his YouTube channel, though the others look interesting as well. I hope to post some more soon! I think that Dohler may get more exposure now that his piano concerto has been recorded by Hyperion and is to be released next month!
