I took the liberty of moving your post Alfred to start a new thread. Instead of having everything jumbled up together I thought we should separate out by city and/or country. That will make it easier when planning trips - although of course, it is likely that our friend 'arglmann' will keep his spreadsheet up to date.

A little bit of care needs to be taken before ordering from sheetmusicwarehouse, especially if you are considering any of his antiquarian stock.

The word "disbound" is not inaccurate, but in my experience it could have been done with a little bit more delicacy. If you want originals and are not too fussy about the condition, his prices still seem a little high. If you just want the notes, ordering copies from libraries could be cheaper.

Saying that, the service is superb and once when one of my orders did not arrive, I got a refund without argument.

The lady running musicbythescore, is an absolute darling. Service excellent and bargains to be found.

Christopher Browne's site.

Ordering online pretty hassle free, and delivery has so far been reliable. Stocks mainly light music. Some gems to be found.

Here's one from north of the border, though I've never used them personally.

Not only does Oxford have the excellent Austin Sherlaw-Johnson, but also
Blackwell's. Unfortunately, when their music shop relocated to its current
(smaller) premises, their stock of second-hand sheet music didn't! Worse
still, at roughly the same time, another great Oxford music shop, Russell
Acott's on High Street, moved out of town, shrank, and 'died' last year.

There's also this site, which is all private sales.

Hi Timtin,
About Alba Musick, I have visited the shop several times and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and has a very large stock at prices from cheap to steep.
If you visit Glasgow take the metro to Kelvin bridge station and the shop is just round the corner, there is also an antiquarian bookshop on the main road with a small stock of music. Alba musick is in what looks like a garage at the back of a block of old tenement flats, but don't be deceived by the frontage it gets a lot better inside.
Highly recommended.
