Re: Alfor's Rarities
Hope, these two are rare enough...
Karol RATHAUS
Sonata No. 4 op. 58 Adolf BARJANSKY (1850-1900)
Sonate No. 2 Gis moll für Pianoforte op.11. Diatonic, homophonic, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann influence; simple (primitive??), but not amateurish. Nevertheless would perhaps please many an audience.

thank you very much for the infos!

P.S. I recently posted a sonata by a certain "Hagyjev" (that is how the librarians spelt the name - the score shows 2 different spellings). Could you possible help me to identify the composer?
P.P.S. If I would know, that more than 2 or 3 people are interested in the foreword to the ROSLAVETS sonatas, I would ask my cousin (who was a russian teacher at school for some decades) to translate it.
Likely spelling is Hajiyev......which is usually given as Gadzhiyev. If you can send me the score or even just the front page with the name on I can confirm.

Re: Alfor's Rarities
Here is the score again - it definitely is an Azerbaijan composer; might well be Hajiyev.

Re: Alfor's Rarities
The right-hand is the Russian spelling in Cyrillic letters.alfor wrote: the score shows 2 different spellings
The left-hand is the same name in the Azerbaijani alphabet used from 1958 to 1991.

The name Hajiyev or Hadjiev or anyone of the many variants through the Russian/Muslim linguistic area means "son of the pilgrim" (the pilgrimage to Mekka).
In addition to the Wiki link, some interesting information is to be found on this page:
