Joerg Demus died on Tuesday. I owed the man a great deal and I admired his longevity. I found him to be a great pianist. He was still performing demanding recitals as he approached his 90th birthday.

Offenbach was born 200 years ago last week.

There was a composer called Jacques Offenbach,
Whose music was much lighter than that of Bach.
He wrote a Can-Can
(Not everyone can),
And this was the reason why he made his mark!
