Anyway, just to tidy things up, everything was correct with the exception
of No.10, for which the intended answer was Mahler (marl her).
Thanks again to everyone who joined in.

In the new quiz, all are Austro-Hungarians perhaps?
5 Korngold
6 Fuchs
7 Wolf
13 Auer
Ah! Almost. I didn't intend the Hungarian bit - so 13 is incorrect, but only just...
Some are very easy I know.

I missed Tim's last quiz...and Rob's is tricky.

1. Apostel
10. Toch

- [and agree with Tim on Korngold, Fuchs and Wolf]

No.12 has to be Joseph Marx.

You just pipped me to the post with Egghard!
Btw, wasn't Korngold Czech?

Quite right Tim, under present boundaries.....he was born in Brünn (Brno) so originally Austro–Hungarian, although now in Czech Republic.

Well done Jo...was just logging in to add those myself [have Rob's list stuck to my PC so I might get inspiration whilst I work]!!!

All correct so far. Well done. Egghard rather amused me!

Yes, boundaries are a problem. Korngold - generally considered an Austrian, but yes, born in Brno. Quite right.

Just leaves:
8 Not a rural dweller (8)
9 Yaaaay! (4)
11 Before the despatcher (6)
13 Sixty minutes (5)
14 Black and naked (6)

All Austrian - but 14's name is not Germanic if that helps?
13 was almost right. 11 is given to you but with a little trimming.
8, 9, 11 and 13 are not that well known.
14 was an extremely studious composer.

No. Sorry. Think Slavic for the black bit.
