OMG Brian - you're almost correct! Only this evening I've been
attempting to replicate a version of Thomas Fowler's ternary
calculating machine made out of Meccano for an upcoming show.
Balanced ternary arithmetic has some amazing properties!

Ah Tobyjj - like several other 4-letter words, we don't like to use the 'L' word in Meccano circles! :-)
Btw, today is Meccano inventor Frank Hornby's 150th. birthday, hence today's Google logo.

Brian, that's the sort of piano on which I'd have loved to
have played duets with my rather attractive piano teacher! :-)
Unfortunately, it was the 'pupil' after me who, I was convinced
at the time, played primo to her secondo or vice-versa. :-(
