The Music Publishers' Thread

Post by rob »

We have several members who are publishers and this provides them with a place to advertise their wares. It also allows us to move posts of blatant advertising away from the main part of the site, helping to reduce clutter.

Members who are publishers are strongly encouraged to give details here of any new publications that may be of serious interest to other members.

I confess all. Thank you, Rob, for providing us publishers with this thread. I for one will make a donation to PP in recognition of this opportunity...

Some readers may be interested to know that my business, Crescendo Music Publications, has commenced issuing scores of the complete solo piano music of Charles-Marie Widor. Many of these scores have been out of print for decades, some for even longer. Due care has been taken in renotating the originals, and each edition includes a list of corrections and editorial suggestions where appropriate. We're aiming to have the project completed by December, 2010.

You can see what we're up to and purchase scores at http://www.crescendomusicpubs.com.au/

MusT is my company, we're based in the UK and we publish and distribute printed music all over the place. We represent more than 60 British and foreign publishers in various ways, and the main catalogues we carry are:

A-RAM (Moscow): publishers of Nikolai Kapustin and also some hard to get hold of Russian CDs
AKKORD (Hungary): contemporary and classical Hungarian composers mainly
BOILEAU (Spain): contemporary and classical Spanish composers, and also some standard works including for piano
LIENAU (Frankfurt): lots of Sibelius
MUSICUS (USA): cheap and cheerful, but not much piano
OR-TAV: Israeli and other Jewish music, klezmer
REIFT (Switzerland) vast catalogue mainly of wind & brass, wind band & brass band
SIKORSKI (Germany): but not the Russian bit, unfortunately
ZIMMERMANN (Germany): another big catalogue, lots of Medtner

Please PM me if you're interested to know more...

Cheers

Further to my post on the Godowsky thread in the Keyboard Music discussion forum, my company has just published several piano scores of works that may be of interest to members of PP. They’ve been produced in Japan, and are beautifully printed and bound on high quality paper. Some textual notes are in Japanese only, but the music speaks for itself! Here they are; all for piano solo unless stated otherwise:

Leopold Godowsky (1870-1938) : Java Suite (Phonoramas ~ Tonal Journeys for the Pianoforte)

Nikolai Kapustin (1937-) : Piano Albums, 3 volumes. What's very special about these albums is that they contain an extensive introduction and commentary, with notes on the individual pieces, by Masahiro Kawakami - one of the foremost exponents of Kapustin's piano music. Plus, the whole edition has been supervised, with extensive fingering and guidance notes, by the composer himself. All texts are in English and Japanese.

Contents (** = published for the first time):
Volume 1 Prelude op 40/1 from "Eight Concert Études" - Finale op 40/8 from "Eight Concert Études" - Bagatelle op 59/9 from "Ten Bagatelles" - Three Impromptus op 66 - Sonatina op 100 - Gingerbread Man op 111 ** - The End of the Rainbow op 112 ** - Wheel of Fortune op 113 ** - No Stop Signs op 114 ** - Paraphrase on Kenny Dorham's "Blue Bossa" op 123 ** - Introduction and Rondo op 128 **

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) : La Valse (arranged for piano solo by Alexander Ghindin)

Clara Schumann (1819-1896) : Klavierstücke (Romance variée op 3 – Romance op 5/3 – Romance in A minor op 21/1 – Romance in B minor – Souvenir de Vienne op 9 – Soiréesmusicales op 6)

timgill: Great stuff, indeed, for the serious collector, i. e. the new ones! Please don't keep on being too modest - lift the secret which is the editor's name on the scores and how they are available.

Hello zartist,
you could get it via the music publishing
company called Inter-Note ( www.inter-note.com ).
We do printed music on demand,
and your piece, typeset it completely new,
would be around 5 € plus shipping.

Best,
Philipp Alexander
