Radio broadcast of Bortkiewicz piano works

Post by Alex »

Hi all,
I am proud to announce that I will be performing a selection of Sergei Bortkiewicz' solo works live on my local classical radio station in Nashville, TN (USA) on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 @ 12:06pm. You can listen locally on FM 91.1 or stream it online at wpln.org
The program is called Live in Studio C and is a weekly live performance on the radio by local musicians and students of primarily classical music.

My program is as follows:
Prelude (Alex Bolton)
Sergei Bortkiewicz:
Esquisses de Crimee (Crimea) Op. 8 No. 1 Les Rochers d’Outehe-Coche
10 Etudes, Op. 15 No. 4
10 Preludes, Op.33 No. 7
3 Pieces, Op. 24 No. 3 Impromptu (Eros)

Disclaimer: I am not a professional and this will not be perfect. Just enjoy!
Thanks!
Alex

Congratulations, Alex. That's an interesting program, well played. Your own piece of music is nice to hear, and is very much reminiscent of those post-romantic composers that you like.

Very nicely played Alex.
It's encouraging that enterprising radio stations like this bring in 'amateur' musicians. It's a great way to expose lesser known works, such as those you played.
Kudos to all involved!
