don't recall if I ever posted the link when I made this a few years ago. Don't think anyone has bothered recording the great little prelude in e flat minor of Kosenko , Op. 2 No. 1 (has some neat early Scriabin like sound to it).

I've been terrible about cataloging and releasing my personal archive recordings of things that strike my fancy, so didn't remember if I am doing a double post or if I genuinely didn't put this up here.

Hope it helps bring a great little work to light. 8-)

Oleg Eiges recordings

Hello everyone,

I recently got a recording from Oleg Eiges Piano Sonata 4 ("Toccata"), which I find really entrancing. I found on youtube a few other recordings, including the 5 plastic etudes, though the recording quality isn't top notch...
There visibly used to be other recordings, especially of the other sonatas and ballades, on this site : http://kassandrion.narod.ru/eiges/audio.htm
Sadly, they seem to be no longer avalaible - though being in China, I can't quite be sure...

Does anyone have any recordings of / by this composer ? I have, thanks to Pianophilia, most of his music on paper, but it is sadly beyond my curent pianistical reach. I'm not the biggest fan of the etudes, but the 4th sonata is amazing ; the recording by E. Sëmin is fantastic IMHO. The way the different elements are developped, the themes themselves, it all speaks to me very deeply and I would love to hear more from this composer.

Thanks in advance !

Hello all,

Since the following concerns not only left hand music but also specifically Russian/Soviet left hand music, I thought I'd copy the message to this Russian thread too.
FolkeNauta wrote:Hello all pianophiles,

Finally I decided to dedicate a new recording to solely Russian music for the left hand.
There turned out to be more than enough original works for one full-length CD. However I'm going to leave out some of them mostly because I felt they lacked quality. I will also add my own transcription of Rachmaninov's Vocalise.

The total playlist will look like this:

Alexander Scriabin - Prelude and Nocturne op. 9
Felix Blumenfeld - Etude op. 36
Aram Khachaturian - 4 pieces for children (slightly arranged)
Ossip Gabrilowitsch - Etude op. 12/2
Klimenty Korchmarev - Prelude in c sharp minor
Sergei Bortkiewicz - Epithalame op. 65/3
Sergei Bortkiewicz - Etude 'Le Poète' op. 29/5
Matvej Gozenpud - Etude in b minor
Leonid Lukomsky - 3 little pieces
Vladimir Pohl - Poème op. 17
Reinhold Glière - Impromptu op. 99/1
Vladimir Ziring - Prelude op. 28/1
Sergei Rachmaninov - Vocalise (arranged by me)

I will keep you posted if you are interested!

Edit: I will also add Nikolay Peyko's 1992 Sonata for the left hand to the disc, as well as Vladimir Blok's little Sonatina.

Best regards,
Folke Nauta.

So here is a recording of the first Piano Concerto by Alemdar Karamanov. Unknown performers to me, if you guys can shed some light here, would be great. I will post the score at the piano section.

Cheers,

Tony
