Alfred, I have deleted your post of the Howard Ferguson Piano Sonata played by Howard Shelley since it is probably still available from Hyperion Records.

Hyperion Records are a particularly close friend of this website, and we have many friends and supporters from the smaller recording companies and many of their artists.

Your post surprised me a little since in general you've followed the guidelines we discussed a few months ago. Please keep to what we have already discussed and be a bit more sensitive about the recordings you post. Contact any one of the team (of six) if you have any questions.

...sorry! My next postings will be Kentner, Murdoch, Cohen from shellacs (to my knowledge never issued on LP or CD) ... so hopefully no copyright problems!!!

AKSHIN ALI-ZADE
(b. 1937, AZERBAIJAN)

Born in Baku. He studied at the Azerbaijan Conservatory where he was a student of Dzhvedet Gadzhiev and later joined that school's faculty. After the collapse of the Soviet Union he moved to Turkey where he taught at Trabzon and Van. His works include ballets, cantatas, orchestral, instrumental and vocal music. He wrote a total of 5 Symphonies, the unrecorded ones being Nos. 1 (1962), 3 (1982), 4 "Mugam" (1984) and 5 ( ? ).
