Stefan ASKENASE may be called the true heir of his teacher Emil Sauer.
A noble player with an exquisite touch.
In later years he specialized in Chopin (especially recommended: Nocturnes & Polonaises).
His debut in the 1920s at the Salzburg Festival was with Prokofiev's 3rd piano concerto!
Polonaise op. 26,2 - this again is a tape recording from early 1950's, pressed on shellac!
