Not too sure whether Europe still exists, but your tip was precious and the download through Savefromnet did work here in France.
Thank you Jeremy.
You're very welcome, JS. I'm glad to hear that en.savefrom works for videos that are geographically restricted.

It was Parag who suggested it as a good video downloader:

and Scriabinoff who suggested using a downloader for videos restricted to one country. I am certainly grateful for their posts.

And thank you, JS for letting us know that the method works.

This file includes an excellent performance of Rach's famous Prelude
by A. Rubinstein (Bell Telephone Hour 1948).

Can anybody extract the respective part (original mp4 quality)?

Thank you!

I very much like this modest, slightly romantic, approach! Much more musical, imho, than many more modern readings.

Mr. (sic!) Evlyn Howard-Jones represents a range of fairly unknown British pianist who are well worth to be rediscovered, like:

Eileen Joyce
Harriet Cohen
Kathleen Long (Faure, Chabrier!!)
Moura Lympany (Rachmaninoff Preludes!!)
Harold Samuel (Bach!)
Frank Merrick
Denis Matthews

...forgot to mention the great
DAME MYRA HESS!!
(the only one who is fairly well known).

...and Queen Mum's favourite pianist:
Adelina de Lara (the "Miss Marple" resp. "Margaret Rutherford" of the piano)

Some more by Evlyn (utterly beautiful, imho).
A totally different way of music-making, compared with Gould, Gulda, Richter, a.o.

Although they are not yet available on YouTube, the new BIS recording
of orchestral versions of several works by George Butterworth form
excellent additons to the English repertoire. Kriss Bussman made the
arrangements, which are all really good.

The SACD's highlight for me is the Suite for String Quartette, which sounds
great in orchestral form.

Unfortunately, my car's CD player doesn't behave well when playing SACDs,
so I rip and burn them as ordinary CDs to get round the problem.
