Alexander Mosolov (1900-1973)
Three Children's Scenes, Op.18
Mosolov A - Op 18 Three Children's Scenes.pdf
One of the extremely rare scores from such a well-known composer. Orchestrated version by Edison Denisov (1929-1996) is famous, however strangely the original version for piano and soprano is not performed by any performers.

A collection of folk songs by a composer/arranger who worked in the state publishing house for many years and composed a fair amount of good piano music. All of the words are folk lyrics, with the exception of the third song.

Konstantin Stepanovich SOROKIN
Ukrainian Folk Songs (15), for voice and piano, op. 77 (pub. 1981); 1. The Maple Standing Above the Water, 2. Song about a Mosquito, 3. Twisting, the Wind, to Ukraine (words by S. Rudansky), 4. Why, Why Not Come, 5. The Nut, 6. They Said: 'Come, Come', 7. The Wind is Blowing, the Storm is Blowing, 8. The Girl Standing in the Shadows, 9. Oh, the Wind is Blowing in the Field, 10. Oh, the Girl Walked by the Shore, 11. I'm Going to Heaven, 12. Oh, Girl, Make a Noise, 13. You Hear, my Brother..., 14. Oh, in the Grave Field, 15. Old Grandma

Here are two collections of choral works from Mosolov's later career. His work from this period is obviously far less stimulating than his more-well-known 1920s post-Scriabin/futurist work, but possibly still of some historical interest.

p. 07 - Good Here in Siberia! (V. Semernin)

p. 30 - Bird Cherry (A. Prokofiev)
p. 31 - Song of the Volga Lace-Makers (V. Bokov)
p. 33 - The Swans Flew By (A. Prokofiev)
p. 37 - The Golden Grove Dissuaded (S. Yesenin)
p. 40 - The Distant Cry of Talyanka (S. Yesenin)

p. 57 - In the Field We Meet the Sun (V. Semernin)
Mosolov - Choruses - Book 1 (unaccompanied) (pub. 1978).pdf
