Vocal Music from Central Asia

I do have other items for such a thread, so this won't be limited to just this book :geek:

Published in Dushanbe, this book is written entirely in the Tajik (Tadzhik) language, which uses an expanded version of the Russian alphabet (i.e. has specific letters for 'gh', 'h', 'dzh', etc...) but is otherwise completely different from that language. What few translation resources are available for Tajik were largely insufficient for figuring out most of the song titles and I'm not even going to bother with the large amounts of included text. If anyone knows somebody who would be willing to volunteer their assistance on this, that would be much appreciated.

Biographies for a few of these composers (and others from that country) can be found in the following (very helpful) document:

This is a songbook that gathers together a whole bunch of songs (patriotic and otherwise) by the Kyrgyz female composer Zhylaiz Maldybaeva, whose keyboard works have appeared in the Russian/Soviet thread. This work was published in that country's capital city of Bishkek (then called Frunze). As such. the song titles and words are all in the Kyrgyz language, which is not easily translatable. The Kyrgyz alphabet is similar to the Tajik one, in that it largely follows the rules of Russian phonetics and adds a number of new letters. The titles below are direct transliterations, for whatever that's worth:

Zhylaiz Andylasovna MALDYBAEVA (MALDIBAYEVA, etc..) (Kyrgyzstan)
Songs (21), for voice and piano; 1. Al Lenin (March), 2. Komsomol, Saga Arnalat, 3. Muras, 4. Adamsyz Körku Bolobu? 5. Dostuk Yry, 6. Frunze Shaary, 7. Zhakshylyktyn Zhyly Bol, 8. Terme, 9. Oy Tobo, 10. Ak Zhibek, 11. Choor Küüsü, 12. Zhaz Kelgende Kar Ketet, 13. Zamana Bizge Kubansyn, 14. Bakchabyzdy Süyöbüz, 15. Elkin Too, 16. Bekbekey, 17. Shyryldang, 18. Zhyrgayly, 19. Oyday, 20. Kyz Burak, 21. Zhengip Kel

...continuing to move through the region, here's an interesting set of vocal/piano pieces based on the works of a famous Turkmen poet from the 1800s, composed by the generation of that country's composers who were active after WWII. We've seen some instrumental works by these composers, especially Nuryev, who was a fairly active contributor of piano pieces to the state-published volumes of concert/teaching material:

Caostotale, many thanks for all the Russian and Central Asian piano music and
songs you've been posting in various threads recently, and for all the biographical
links and details of what each file contains.
The modest way with which you present these genuine rarities is also appreciated,
as is your use of the appropriate threads.

Amazing resources. I was unaware of most of the things mentioned. Can't wait to dig deeper into vocal music of this region once I get some more free time on my hands.
