Sacred Music

Post by arglmann »

Hi everyone, I'm searching for any music of Hildegard von Bingen.
Does anyone have info where to get it?
I know of something available in amazon, but no masses etc.
Libaries etc.? I thank you in advance for any help.

I'm not sure that she wrote masses in the modern sense of the term, but perhaps this http://www.hildegard.org/ may be of assistance.

A number of Hildegard von Bingen works are unsurprisingly available from: http://www.hildegard.com/composer_detail.php?id=89

Well, surprisingly, after looking there first of course, a couple of weeks ago, until I forgot the whole Bingen topic getting reminded by my glass music colleague only again yesterday, if you enter the site and click on "composers", at least with my browser, no Mrs. H. van Bingen (not related to L. van Bingenhoven) does appear...
Wait, she doesn't even appear in the catalogue...so how on earth did you manage to find sheet music on that totally user friendly site  ?
I've searched under "'H", "V" and "B". argl...
They probably need some ADMINs to check their site over :-)

No matter what, thanks a lot, rob, for the link!
Lots of stuff!!

Hello fellow pianophiliacs,
again I am on a search for something:
The song "Come, heavy sleep" wants to be
performed by a friend of mine: she is an concert alto,
a rare kind, so she says, because many of them are mezzos :-)
So far I found the SATB version at the WMA,
but she is looking for the accompanied solo version -
does anyone have a clue where to look? IMSLP didn't turn
anything up either...

Thanks in advance,
Arglmann

Is it possible to combine something from this?

Hello again,

I'm searching for information about the "Messa per Rossini".
The manuscript is available in the library of Bologna.

Is the modern, typeset version available to buy from somewhere?

So far I only found recordings...

Thanks for your help,
Arglmann

Seems like the most appropriate place to put this...
