Hello everyone,

Is there someone here who would like to share Pavel Haas - String Quartet No. 2 (1925)?

Cheers!

Here's one of six quartets composed by this early Soviet composer/violinist, this one having been composed during his time in conservatory where he studied under N. Myaskovsky. Apologies in advance for the large file size. The original volume was pretty old and worn out. If somebody wishes to optimize/compress it, please do so!

Here's a quartet by a composer who studied under Shostakovich and Shebalin, arguably two of the USSR's finest quartet composers.

A recording of this (as well as other recordings and a Russian-language book by the composer) was recently shared at Intoclassics. The link for a .rar containing all of that is here:

A suite of non-Georgian folk-inspired movements by Georgia's most prolific quartet composer (and in my opinion, one of the Soviet era's best quartet composers, period). His sets of string quartet miniatures cover Georgian folk material quite exhaustively.

Sulkhan Fyodorovich TSINTSADZE (Georgia)
Suite no. 3, for string quartet (1955); 1. 'Spring Comes' (Albanian folk song), 2. Hungarian folk dance, 3. 'Under a Nice Small Window' (Slovak folk song), 4. 'The Old Forest' (Bulgarian folk song), 5. Tibetan folk dance

A quartet by one of the lesser-known composers who studied under Liadov, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Glazunov and went on to teach numerous Soviet-era composers:
