Here's some modern quartets, by L'Ecole de Paris composers and otherwise. Sorry if the scan quality is questionable:

Tibor HARSANYI
String Quartet (1925)
Harsanyi - String Quartet (1925).pdf
Zoltan KODALY
String Quartet no. 2, op. 10 (1918)
Kodaly - String Quartet no. 2, op. 10 (1918).pdf
Darius MILHAUD
String Quartet no. 3 (avec Chant: Poem by Leo Latil), op. 32 (1916)
Milhaud - String Quartet no. 3 (avec Chant), op. 32 (1916).pdf
Alexandre TANSMAN
Triptych, for string quartet or string orchestra (1930)
Tansman - Triptych (1930).pdf
Enjoy!

Many thanks for these interesting works (and your Milhaud uploads in some other threads) - highly appreciated.

Glad you enjoy them. I can't tell if any of my older Milhaud scans are available any longer, but I can repost those if you're interested (piano sonata no. 2, reduction of 'L'homme et son desir', Hymne de Glorification). I also have 3 huge boxes filled with other works by him and other Paris-based composers and plan on getting a hold of more scores over the summer. I just need to gain access to a faster and better scanner and I'll be good to go.

That sounds promising. Indeed I seem to have missed his 2nd piano sonata - so a repost would be highly welcome.

I promised this ages ago and finally have a working scanner at my disposal.

Somebody recalled the copy of Larry Sitsky's book on the repressed Soviet avant-garde composers before I got to read the chapter on Melkikh, the 'Rhapsodist', so I have little idea on how to contextualize this particular work, not having attempted to study it yet. Even so, this should be of interest to anyone who likes works for the Boleslav Yavorsky school of composition. Anyone who hasn't should note that Alfor recently posted Melkikh's third piano sonata in the Russian and Soviet Music thread.

Dimitry MELKIKH
String Quartet no. 2, op. 18 (1928)

IMSLP has the score of Holbrooke's String Quartet No.2 twice over.
So what? Well, different nicknames, different keys, different works!

I've been slowing building up a small mountain of string quartets from Soviet-era composers, including a number from the larger cycles therein (e.g. Golubev, Miaskovsky) and many others. I'm curious which, if any, have already been posted here or elsewhere.
