Here's a rearrangement of the Scherzo movement from Gaigerova's Suite for viola and piano by T. Priimenko. That work can be found in the viola/piano thread (it's the third movement in the suite).

Here's a fairly brilliant-looking set of pieces by Alekseev, who otherwise wrote several interesting works based on Chuvash folk music. Elsewhere on this forum is a solo cello sonata and a sonata for bassoon and piano. I'm pretty sure this piece is a reduction:

Mikhail Alekseevich ALEKSEEV
Pieces (2), for cello and piano; 1. Improvisation, 2. Caprice

I play the piano and a friend of mine is studying cello.
I know several beatiful pieces to play together, but they
seem to be too difficult for the cello player.
Could you suggest some nice and easy pieces to play together ?
Thanks in advance !

I'm not sure about the second composer, but I want to say that it's Latvia's Jekabs Medins, whose list of works includes a ballade for cello/piano. Maybe someone could clear this up, as well as finding info on the second-to-last composer:

Pieces by Soviet Composers, for cello and piano (1972)

Orest Aleksandrovich YEVLAKOV (EVLAKOV) - Adagio, from the ballet 'Ivishka'
Ya. MEDIN - Ballade
Edgar Aleksandrovich ARRO - Largo
Oleg Nikolayevich KHROMUSHIN - Rondo
I. FINKELSHTEIN (FINKELSHTEYN) - Aria
Vladislav Aleksandrovich USPENSKY - Concert Pieces (3) (1961); 1. Recitative, 2. Dramatic Monologue, 3. Scherzino
