The violin part in these youth sonatas is optional ('ad libitum') and can be left out. The original piano part can be played solo. Henle published not long ago a version of KV 6 - 9 without the violin part.

Did Mozart write those dreadful daily exercises at the start?

Btw1, Köchel's catalogue has an additional 50-bar Marche in F
associated with K8, quoted in full. However, my German isn't up
to the task of working out quite what this associaion is. Underneath
the music it says: Ob es von Mozart stammt ist ungewiß.

Btw2, all of his early violin sonatas (K6-15, K26-31 and K55-61)
can be played fairly satisfactorily without the accompanying violin.

Unfortunately, the incipit in Köchel only gives the first 3 bars.
Perhaps the D flat was put there by Charles Hallé to make the first
phrase slightly less repetitive.

In the NMA this D-flat is not in the violin & keyboard version. But it appears in the NMA in the first movement of KV 8 that's in Nannerl's Notenbuch. Strangely this D-flat appears there only in measures 6, 7 and 8, but not in measure 5! But this D-flat was apparently put in by Wolfgang or Leopold in this solo version. What I understand in Kochel ed. 8 about the March is that the page in the Nannerl Notenbuch wchich has KV8 starts with this March, notated by Leopold. Kochel ed. 8 mentions that it is not certain if Wolfgang composed this March, although this is probable.
Indeed all the youth sonatas can be played without the violin. But KV55-61 are listed as spurious and not by Mozart.
I hope the new catalogue by Neil Zaslaw will appear soon. The Mozarteum communicated in 2011 that it was near completion!
