there are some notes on this piece on IMSLP which has a simplified version...

I hope that the commentator may see this original version.

Hello all,

I have recently become interesting in the music of the composer Kessler, Joseph Christoph, but I am having unfortunatly little luck finding sheet music online. He had a large influence on Chopin when he was in his teens and having played some of the music found on IMSLP his mark is very apparent. For that reason alone I think his music is valuable.

On IMSLP you can only find the following scores:
Etudes Op. 51
Etudes Op. 20
Etudes Op. 100
Nocturnes Op. 48
Penees Fugitives Op. 72
Rondo Grazioso Op. 52
Scherzo Op. 45

One notable mention not listed here is his preludes Op. 31 which were dedicated to Chopin and likely had a big influence on some early Chopin works. You can find the complete set of preludes performed here: https://enc.piano.or.jp/musics/17009 but no sheet music apart from Op. 31 No. 2 exists online. Listening through these pieces I have found some interesting connections to some of Chopin's earlier pieces, namely his E Minor Waltz.
I tried to order this one through Sheet Music plus but after ordering they updated the status of the Sheet Music to not available and refunded me. Since then I have been working diligently to transcribe this set by ear and although my scores are very accurate I would still prefer to have the original sheets.

There also exists a record of a Kessler etude in C Major which has a striking resembelance to Chopins Op. 10 C Major etude.

You can find a list of pieces from Kessler on this website. https://de.wikisource.org/wiki/BLK%C3%9 ... _Christoph
Searching the site for Kessler its been a while since anybody has mentioned him, and I believe most of the scores for him on IMSLP were provided by the users of pianophilia. I was hoping somebody may have access to scores not listed on IMSLP and would be willing to provide them.

Any help at all would be appreciated!

WorldCat shows many copies of Op.31 held at libraries around the world

The Polish National Library records it in its online archive, but says it is copyright-protected due to it being a recent engraving (Kraków : Polskie Wydaw. Muzyczne, 1994) (You could enquire from them directly: https://pwm.com.pl/pl/sklep/publikacja/ ... garnia.htm)

Other works are available from the Polish National Library:

Karl TIEDEMANN or TIDEMAN
(Unknown nationality, published in St Peterburg)

Op.40 La Belle Capricieuse (Pompadour dance) Listen: https://musescore.com/user/4151271/scores/7962584
download from: https://www.starinnye-noty.ru/%D1%82%D0 ... %BA%D0%BE/

Op.4 Kisynka waltz. Listen: https://musescore.com/user/4151271/scores/7962875
TIEDEMANN Op.4 Kisynka (Кисынька) waltz (bw).pdf
The idiom "kitty" = "young woman" seems to have been used in the early 20th century. Compare Prisovsky: "Kisonka, Girl with a Lorgnette".

The final page has a catalog listing showing Tiedemann works going up to at least Op.80

Went looking for the piece "L' Etincelle (Caprice)" by Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély this evening. I only found it in the context of a large compilation - & thereafter drafted a new pdf of just the piece.

Here it is
Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély - L'Étincelle, Op.109.pdf
