Yes, I meant a different edition - I have a decent copy of the Cranz, but wondered if another edition existed. I guess not. Thanks, Caprotti.

Hello All! Yesterday I found in my stacks what must be a scarce Soviet era concerto:

Dimitre Christov "Concerto Pour Piano et Orchestre"

The writing is quite lush, especially for such a late work. It's a bit of a monster to copy (88 pages, tightly bound, brittle paper) so please let me know if there is sufficient interest in the work...if so I will gladly scan and post it later this afternoon or evening.

All best,

I for one am extremely interested, but would not want you to damage the score in the attempt.

I too would be extremely interested, especially as the name is new to me [one to investigate I think] :D

Thal

I, too, am very interested. But unlike Thal, I vote you trash the score getting a good scan before it dessicates into powder.

DC *1933 is Bulgarian - I do hope he is alive and fine. See details about a CD (No. 2 of 2) of some of his piano his works, recorded by his scholar Nadejda Vlaeva with sound examples -> www.nadejdavlaeva.com/pages/recordings.html

For certain specialists among us all: You will find there a concrete hint to DC's "Toccata For All Soul’s Day (1992)"!

Great! I'm happy this is a new one for the group. We're scanning it now and will upload by tonight. I do appreciate Thal's concern about the fragility of the score but have to agree with passthesalt, because I've seen too many scores where the pages are completely oxidized to brown and they sit on shelves as "archive" items forever with no value to anyone. I love original editions, but in terms of inherent value to my mind a score's only purpose is to convey the music. I will happily sacrifice the original to have the music scanned and "out there" where it might (maybe, someday) be played and recorded.

All best,
Frank
