I just recalled Milhaud's „Sumare“ from Saudades do Brazil.
There is another example of a whole movement in a similar manner,
but I don't recall the composer (Tansman? Absil?).

Great subject, Alfor. The earliest use of stacked 4ths that I have ever seen is the extraordinary 1st Prelude from "Le Fils des Etoiles" by Satie, written in 1892, which you will find here: https://mega.nz/#!ix4EnCKY!T_XA7LrsFF7T ... dMsrR8G_Yg
Other characteristic uses can be found in works by Alfredo Casella (particularly the Sonatina), Koechlin, Webern, Valentino Bucchi, Erwin Schulhoff, Karl Amadeus Hartmann, Leo Ornstein, Nicolas Obouhow, Tansman (Sonatas 3 & 4), Copland, Vincent Persichetti, Galina Ustvolskaya.

Dear Alfor,

Of course I cannot comment on behalf of Fearless Leader, but since PP is hosted in Denmark, which (to my knowledge) is (still) a member of the EU, I would suspect no change to the status quo.

However, living as I do in Australia, we are insulated from such trivialities as Brexit. If it does affect us, we will probably become a republic and pass a bill stating that the UK no longer exists and therefore we should take its place in the EU.

I think Pianiophilia - and of course music - is above politics (but that could be the start of another heated discussion ).......so no worries Alfor, no change for us on this forum. We boldly go where so few have gone before !!!!

Ignore Brexit........I am worried about Australia.......we're inundated with Australian programmes on British TV, and then this year's Eurovision contest, what next are they seeking in infiltrate ? Me thinks this is the start of world domination [have to be careful as married to an Australian] !!
