I would like to ask if there is an existing recording of Bohnke's Piano Trio.??
Now i am so interesting in bohnke, i will trying to find or otherwise purchase in foreign countries. There is a cd under REAL SOUNDS. With the Piano Sonata and klavierstucke op.8

By the way, anybody with his Piano concerto?
His music, has lots of hints of Reger and Hindemith.

OH great. But i would i have go to shanghai to buy it.... my friend is going there.. definitely gonna tell her to get me that and the piano concerto which comes along with the symphony.

The style of this sonata clearly reflects Sauer's pianistic personality:
noble, elegant, virtuosic, slightly feminine (compared to collegues like Ansorge or Lamond).
1st mvt. is the most ambitious: influenced by Brahms, Glazunov** (2nd sonata!) and Schumann.
Last mvt. are elegant, witty variations on a theme "in the old style".
**Sauer studied with Nicholas Rubinstein and surely knew all major works of Glazunov .
He is one of the few pianists who attended (two) of Liszt's summer masterclasses
without claiming to be a Liszt pupil. Others shook hands
with the master and afterwards claimed to be a Liszt pupil.

 See his memoirs "Meine Welt. Bilder aus dem Geheimfache meiner Kunst und meines Lebens" - written when he was still a young man (1901), although father of 9 children (don't know, if he had any illegitimate ones ). His second wife was Angelica Morales (*1911!), with whom he had two sons.

¥ I have excellent results when printing with somewhat reduced "blackness"
(most printers have this feature, but it is rarely used) and a size of 98% (DIN A4 paper).

Thanks for the Sauer sonata, Alfor. It is indeed a well-crafted piece and rewarding to play.
