Alfred

Thank you so much for the recent Belaieff postings - a publisher of works I have been hunting down for many years. There is a beautiful publication which details many Belaieff scores, their gorgeous front covers and the histories of the relative composers: The Beauty Of Belaieff by Richard Beattie Davis [publisher: G-Clef Publishing]. It is rather expensive but an exquisite and very informative book.

Out of interest...and being very cheeky, the following are Bealieff scores I have been trying to trace and, no doubt would be a much valued contribution to everyone....just in case you discover any copies in your searches :D

Akimenko - Op 21 Cinq Morceaux
Alpheraky - Op 21 Trois Morceaux; Op 27 Trois Morceaux, Op 29 Trois Morceaux & Op 30 Trois Morceaux
Blumenfeld S - Op 2 Quasi mazurka
Dreyer Op 2 Badinage Muscial & Op 4 Prelude et Etude
Glazunov - Op 1 Andante from 1st quartet arr. piano solo; Op 10 2nd quartet arr. piano solo; Op 38 In moddo religioso arr. pianosolo; Op 40 Marche triomphale arr. paino solo
Khvostchinsky Op 13 Deux Preludes
Pogojeff Op 1 Cinq Fugues, Op 2 Quatre Fugues & Op 4 Six Preludes
Stcherbatcheff N - Op 31 La melancolie, Op 33 Serenade; Op 34 Valse-Entr'acte, Op 36 Les adieux, Op 42 Mazura
Steinberg - Op 7 Prelude symphonique arr. piano solo, Op 10 Les metamorphoses arr. piano solo
Winkler - Op 6 Trois Morceaux

...plus there are many orchestral and chamber works arranged for piano / 4 hands.

Many thanks again....your contribution is always much admired and appreciated.

Hi Alfred

You are a star :D - thank you so much....I shall eagerly look forward to those posts in due time. It is quite impressive the scores you have managed to track down for all of us. I am, as ever, eternally grateful [especially any Dreyer which has eluded me for a long time].

OK.
Nevertheless here is my own scan of:
Felix BLUMENFELD
Quatre morceaux op. 2 (PURE original Leipzig Belaieff edition; plus beautiful color cover)
Blumenfeld 4 Morceaux op.2.pdf
Pianistically excellent salon-music, which musically is not yet up to the standards of some of his later works.

Thanks for the Bohnke, Alfor. After playing thru both his Op.6 & Op.8 Klavierstrucke, I went to your Mediafire site and saw the Op.10 Sonata.......and I've been playing thru that all evening. It is a very interesting and challenging work in his lovely harmonic idiom and compositionaly seems to have some real depth to it. All his music seems well written for the piano.

Dear Alfor,

Emil Bohnke....what a wonderful introduction you have given us to the works of yet another brilliant composer!! Thank you ever so much for your kind generosity, which is so greatly appreciated.

One note on the Bohnke Op. 8 ...I believe pg. 3 (as numbered) is missing from the scan. I checked your site on mediafire and found the same. Just pointing this out for completeness sake! :D

Always your friend,

Frank

You are always welcome!

P.S. A bunch of my scores has now been transferred to the pianophila archive

Dear Frank,

thank you for the hint! I will as soon as possible borrow again the score and complete the file.

All the best
alfor

P.S. I thought I had upload all Bohnke scores at old pianophilia (400dpi quality) - but as I did not find the files in my archives, I am not sure. Is there any long-time member, who could check?
Best regards, Alfor S. Cans
