Thanks, Alfor, for this lovely edition of Tausig. I've only seen excerpts from this until now.

Excellent scanning and excellent music.

Ponti's recording of the Halka Fantasie is one of my most listened to recordings. Stupendous piece of music.

I wonder if aynone here can play it. I am about a million years away from this myself.

Soon I'll play these Fantasie. Exactly as he wrote Tausig, without shortcuts as Ponti :) :)

Promoting William BAINES:
(Simply don't know, why his excellent piano pieces
are never on recital programmes).
Let's begin with a ps600 of a fantastic "sea piece":
Tides No. 1: The Lone Wreck

It is a mystery to me old chap, but thankfully we do have some recordings (and now your scans) which hopefully might prod a few pianists towards Baines music.

I tried a few pieces myself, but don't keep the old fingers in good enough nick to get very far.

There was talk a while back about commerical recordings of his symphonic works, but that seems to have died.

What we really need is one of our PP members to win the Eurolottery.

I can only very highly recommend the recordings of Eric PARKIN!! (Being an incurable analogue fan, I stick to my wonderful LYRITA LP - you know, these unreasonable large black discs - with a nice selection of Baines piano works)

Let's have a little break from Tausig:

Hansmaria DOMBROWSKI
(1897-1987; obscure German composer, conductor,
organist, accompanist; pupil of Kaun and Pfitzner)
Zwei kleine Sonaten (composed in 1927; truly individual late-romantic language; recommended!!)
Dombrowski 2 kl. Sonaten.pdf
