Chopin "nocturne oubliée"?

Post by pcovitz1968 »

Hello... Can anyone tell me whether this piece is considered spurious, or acknowledged as a genuine Chopin composition?

Thanks!

Spurious. The notes in Stephen Hough's recent Nocturnes recording which does include this work state "definitely not by Chopin" although published in Russia in his name.

Two more corkers from Giedymin Rodkiewicz (1834-1891) from the Polish National Library

I've cleaned them up and made them monochrome:
RODKIEWICZ Op.15 Vivat Polka (bw).pdf
RODKIEWICZ Op.17 Marche Funebre (bw).pdf
The Polka has been crammed onto the page, with a number of late-additions of clefs, and a few omissions ....
THe Mazurka has a note-value error in the 4th-last measure.

Some more cleaned up scores from the library
RODKIEWICZ Op.9 Tout pour toi polka (bw).pdf
RODKIEWICZ Op.24 Deuxieme Valse (bw).pdf
RODKIEWICZ Op.27 Impromptu galop (bw).pdf
Some scores suffer a problem of reduced readability due to cramming too many measures into a line (plus frequent misspellings of his name). This reset should help:
RODKIEWICZ Op.9 Tout_Pour_Toi (polka) (musescore).pdf
