Nikolai Roslavets (1880/81-1944)
Poem for piano (1916)

A rare work by the composer Nikolai Roslavets (1880/81-1944). This work was published in 1916 as a part of the collection 'Moscow Masters' (Московские мастера). This work was never reprinted by any modern publishers. I also attached the typeset edition by me. Please let me know if there are any mistakes in my edition.

Was wondering if any Sabaneyev dweller here might have some information to share regarding one of his piano work titled Passacaglia and Fugue on the Apocalypse Theme, alternatively, Chaconne and Fugue? Maybe some of you have more info regarding his unpublished works?

This is so far the unpublished works from Sabaneyev, but maybe it's not very complete. This list is from larry sitsky, but it doesn't mention the Chaconne and fugue.

Sonata for violin and piano
Chaconne for organ and Orchestra Op.21 (from 1930)
Symphonic Eclogue Op.22
Variations of a theme by Scriabin (for unknown forces)
Ballet "L'aviatrice" from 1925
Symphonic Poem "Flots d'azur" (1928)
The Revelation of St.John for soloists, choir, organ and orchestra (1940)

Malcolm did mention that the Sonata for Violin and Piano might have been apparently published by Belaieff, but RSL, Glinka and Moscow Conservatoire doesn't list it.

Cheers,
Tony

Hi - first time posting!

Would anyone happen to have a copy of Kabalevsky's First Piano Concerto, Op. 9? In whatever form.

I've seen more of his other music posted here but I haven't come across that one. Great concerto, considering trying it.

Thanks!!!

Thank you so so much - been looking for it for a long time, I've played the three sonatas and I thought I'd give this a go. Cheers!

Shota Ezaki knows. He has a publishing company called Muse Press, so you could try writing to him. Maybe the Sonata for violin and piano is a misreading of the 2nd Piano Trio, which is called Sonata for violin, 'cello and piano. Some of the mss of these are in the US. Rebecca Mitchell has seen the huge ms of the Revelation, and told me all the pages have become unordered. He moved to the S of France in later years and did some work with a film studio there. I'd be interested to hear his film scores.
