Thanks Brian... that's the one! Gorgeous piece...
Is this the Op.16 No.2 Romance by any chance? Only No.1 of that set (Prelude) has been in circulation...

Best regards,
Parag

As far as I know this hasn't been recorded. I had heard a friend playing it several years ago but couldn't remember the opus number.

Gliere - Romance Op.16 No.2.mp3
Hi Guys,
I attach with a huge amount of humility a recording from 2004 of me playing the Romance. It was recorded on a minidisc at some distance from the piano in a converted chapel with swimming pool acoustics. I admit to being quite pleased with the performance under the difficult circumstances as it was recorded in a public concert and you don't get two chances to do what you know you can do, so please don't judge it too harshly. I will say though that I think it is better than the link Parag found. Why it has never been properly recorded baffles me it is a glorious piece of music.
best wishes
Brian

Does anyone have Khachaturian/A. Kamensky : Song for Stalin ? (Песня о Сталине / Муз. А. Хачатуряна; Концертная обработка для ф.-п. А. Каменского == М. Музгиз 1949 )

Katsaris must have recorded this by now (according to the interview he was flying the next day to Germany to record tsoviet piano rarities by Dunayevsky, Eshpai et al). He says that it is a beautiful piece. Looking forward for this CD to come out.
